Frequently Asked Questions
What does RightSite do?
RightSite analyzes EV charging locations and predicts which sites will perform best. Our platform helps installers, developers, lenders, fleets, and site owners make fast, confident decisions using data-driven modeling.
How does RightSite determine the best EV charging locations?
For the L3 DCFC site estimator we use geospatial data, utility information (when available), traffic and dwell-time patterns, competitive charger density, nearby amenities, and proprietary scoring models to forecast revenue and utilization, and a human eyes-on evaluation. L2 and Fleet Estimators use a combination of utility information (when available), user data, industry standards, national trends, as well as grant/incentive databased and applicable tax codes.
What types of charging analyses does RightSite offer?
RightSite provides three core products:
L2 Estimator — site-specific Level 2 profitability modeling
L3 DC Fast Charging Site Reports — full feasibility and revenue forecasting
Fleet EV Transition Estimator — ICE-to-EV conversion savings for fleets
Do I need to be a data expert to use RightSite?
Not at all. Our tools are built for installers, contractors, developers, fleets, and lenders. If you can enter a street address and a few assumptions, the model handles the rest.
What data sources does RightSite use?
RightSite combines:
Real-time or published utility rates
Open-source transportation and demographic datasets
EV adoption and vehicle registration trends
Charger locations and competitive density
Traffic, dwell-time, and land-use indicators
Proprietary RightSite scoring models
Can I customize pricing, utilization, and hardware costs?
Yes. All estimators allow you to adjust equipment costs, installation costs, pricing modes, utilization assumptions, and incentives.
Do the reports include a financial forecast?
Yes. Each report includes:
5-year revenue and cost modeling
Net profit and payback period
Energy cost calculations
Utilization projection
Environmental impact snapshot
Download-ready PDF output
Can I use RightSite’s reports for client proposals or bank financing?
Yes. Reports are exportable, client-ready, and widely used by installers, developers, and lenders to support proposals, RFPs, and loan applications.
Does RightSite integrate with utility rate APIs?
Yes, in supported regions. Where real-time rates are unavailable, RightSite uses the best available published rate schedules.
How accurate are the projections?
RightSite uses industry-aligned assumptions and continuously updated datasets. While projections are estimates, they are designed to mirror realistic usage patterns and market behavior.
